What is polyurethane damping block?

Damping is defined as effect that tends to reduce the amplitude of vibrations.

Damping can be good in most cases when purpose is to protect the system, damping cannot be easily attributed, it’s not just the friction or gravity or some type of force that reduces the motion. Either too bad or too good damping will cause problem. 

The good the damping coefficient of a material is, and the better its damping effect will be. However, it is not good when damping is too good. When the damping is large enough, the two objects will become a rigid connection. Pepsen polyurethane special formulated damping block is the idea material that can reduce vibration while not causing rigid connection.
